OK, sorted.

There are still over a dozen in the list that haven't been in a match squad this season so far. Maybe some of them are gone too. If you reckon some are gone but are not 100% that's fine, I'll just add them back if they appear in a squad.

Played for u20s in 2010 apparently. Assuming he's long gone if you don't know who he is.

At UCD. Wasn't in their squad against Town for the LSC match last month though.

Last week's Westmeath Independent said "Youngsters Roy King and Ian Sweeney are also unavailable through injury. "

Thanks very much for the help. The stats on Soccerway are updated during the games and obviously records are kept over the course of the season. Just thought it might interest you guys anyway, in addition to what you have on the Town club site.

If there's any inaccuracies in what's there at the moment outside of what I've been talking about, I'd be glad to change whatever it is.

Soccerway (according to them anyway Very Happy

) are now the biggest stats site
worldwide. They cover pretty much every country in the world.

LOI is covered live also. (Goals, cards & subs.)

You can click on a player and you see his profile but also all the games he was involved listed.

Used to contribute to Wikipedia myself, but the football editors there wouldn't allow pages for most players, due to them not "playing in a fully-professional league". Feck that like.

Athlone, meanwhile, are currently taking a close look at a couple of trialists, one of whom (Eric Molloy) is well-known to local football followers.

Molloy, who has already had a couple of spells with Athlone, and is a left-sided attacker, has most recently played junior football with St Peter's, and is keen to impress Mike Kerley in training between now and the opening of the transfer window in June.

Moran said: "Eric looks fit and we all know he's technically very good. There's a chance for him and he seems determined to take it. We'll look at him between now and June, but if his attitude is right, which it seems to be, then I don't see a problem with signing Eric in June."

The other trialist is Korean Li Sung, who spent last season playing with Sligo Rovers' reserves. Sung, a right-sided player, has been training with Athlone for the past three weeks, but cannot sign until June after having a brief spell playing junior football in Sligo for Strand Celtic.

Anyone hear anything about the Korean guy?? I thought they'd be one or two more signings considering how small the squad is at the moment....surely Relihan Broughall and coleman will be replaced

No new signings yet as the club won't announce until they are confirmed as ok by the FAI due to problems that can arise.

Does July 1st open the window for players to be signed from LOI clubs?

We are in a position to push for a promotion but apparent lack of activity in strengthening the panel does not help. There are many young players around the midlands that are capable of making a huge impact. They only need a bit of encouragement.

Eric will be a good one but with the absentees I don't think we are strong enough.

Don't think we can beat Waterford tonight 0-2.

Athlone Town have announced the retirement of Tommy Barrett from football. Tommy played his last game for the club last Friday against SD Galway, a match in which he scored and helped his side to keep a clean sheet. Barrett is undertaking a coaching role with Limerick FC.

He is best known for his time on Shannonside as well as having spells with Shamrock Rovers and, eventually, Athlone Town.

Speaking about his new role with Limerick, Dunne seemed optimistic.

"I'll be helping Declan Farmer with the Under 19's,” he said. “We've got another very good group of young lads this year and we'll be looking to win the league.

“Declan has been doing great work with them and we're looking forward to really get going. I'll be looking at the Academy and all age groups. We're looking to introduce a style of playing at all levels that's consistent with the clubs overall football philosophy.

“I'm not looking to really change too much, it'll be more like taking each age group and coming up with the exact age appropriate coaching.

“For example, kids need to be taught basic control before they go on to passing so we'll say aged 4-7 we'll mainly concentrate on that then we'll move our focus on to passing when they are naturally confident with the ball at their feet.

“We also spoke about not concentrating on winning; the emphasis won't be on winning leagues or cups, not until the age of 15 anyway.

Kids are naturally competitive but our focus is to develop players, not teams. We want to develop players who are capable of playing for Limerick at the top level but also capable of playing across the water in England.

“There's also a gap there now that the A Championship is gone so we're looking at hopefully coming up with something there because not all players are fully developed at 19.

“Some will take another couple of years and we don't want to lose them so we're trying to look at everything.”

While the departure of Barrett is certainly a loss, Athlone Town have mentioned that a number of additions to the squad will be announced in the coming days.

The Midlanders have also announced a friendly with Port Vale for July 24 with a 7.45pm kick-off. The game marks the return of long time friend of the club and current Port Vale manager Micky Adams to the region.

According to the westmeath we've signed Stephen Last from Bray, Barry O Mahoney from Harps and close to signing neil Harney from Bohs as well as 3 lads from Sligo...a left back, a midfielder and a striker....I presume the striker is Mark McGoldrick as he was supposed to sign last season and the lb is either Jake Dykes or Colm McLaughlin....Hopefully we'll have a few signed up for El classico..
